Termite management systems in Clyde and why the notice matters
The barrier, the notice and what goes wrong with both.
In short: Almost every newer Clyde home has a termite management system. Here is how to check yours is intact.
What is installed
Usually a physical barrier under the external walls, put in at frame stage before the walls go up.
The notice
A notice recording the system and the date goes in the meter box. It is the only durable record you get.
What goes wrong
We find barriers not installed at frame inspection, and notices missing at handover. Both are invisible in a finished house.
Conducive conditions
The system is only half of it. Damp, shade, timber against walls and poor drainage do more to invite termites than anything else.
Maintenance
Most systems require periodic inspection to remain effective. Check what yours specifies.
