What to check in a Clyde home before you make an offer
The five minute version, before you pay for anything.
In short: Things you can look at yourself at an open home, before booking an inspection.
Where does the water go
Stand at each corner and look at the fall of the ground. Water should be moving away from the slab.
Downpipes
Follow one down. Does it connect into something, or discharge onto the ground beside the house?
The meter box
Look for the termite management notice. It records the system and the date.
Wet areas
Look at the base of the shower wall, not the tiles. Staining low down is worth a moisture reading.
Then book properly
None of this replaces an inspection. It tells you whether to prioritise one.
